Retreats/Workshops/Events
May 16-17 Join Bill Logan, playwright and author, and Susan Logan, Jon Cabot Zen
graduate who especially works with journaling, in this communal exploration
of the creative potential that arises from the source of who we are. Susan and
Bill will jointly lead the class on writing your spiritual journey or memoir writing.
They have been interested in writing and have expressed this interest in their
individual ways. They have both studied short story writing with Scott Ely at
Winthrop University and Bill has written and directed two plays- most recently
"The Signature" produced and acted by the Montford Players in Asheville.
Susan has studied with Ira Progoff in the Journal Workshop program and they
both have participated in Proprioceptive writing. They share an interest in writing
as a practice, another path towards wholeness.
In this workshop you will be encouraged to access your thoughts and memories
by a variety of writing exercises. It is suggested that you bring a spiral bound
notebook and a favorite pen or pencil. If a laptop is the preferred method of writing,
then bring a laptop. There is not a right or wrong way to write your own thoughts.
If you would like to incorporate meditation into your experience you may wish to
come Friday evening, meet the facilitators and sit for group meditation. You may
spend the night at the Hermitage or return home and come back Saturday
morning for the workshop. If you prefer, you may come Saturday only for the
workshop. Meals are included.
